The Pink House

Located at the top of the village, just above the remains of the Venetian fortress, this lovely town property has wonderful views over the sea to Alonissos, and to the mountain opposite.Built a few years ago, it was designed with real style, in a modern vein but incorporating elements of the traditional island houses. Breezes blowing in from the sea cool the house even on hot summer days. Entrance is into a small hallwayoff which is a WC, and the main room of the lower floor; This is a fantastic living-room-kitchen, with plenty of space and access to the main sun terrace; this runs the length of the house, and has wonderful sea views. To one side of the terrace is the barbeque area which is built out of old stone. The living room itself has wooden floors adorned with colourful kelims, an traditional style wooden ceiling, and stone fireplace.There is a large wooden dining table. The kitchen area which is up one step from the living-dining room is extremely well equipped with electric oven, fridge-freezer and coffee percolator. Up a flight of stairs from the living room is the large double bedroom ,which has wooden floors and an exposed beam ceiling. To one side of the bedroom is the double bed, and a second fireplace. French windows open onto a secondary sun terace with views over the sea to Alonissos. The house boasts fantastic ensuite bathroom which has a walk-in shower, plus a bathtub from which you can take in the sea views!
Just a few metres from the house is a minimarket, and in high season there are also a couple of ouzeries open in the area. The waterfront and port are just a 10 minute walk away.
In addition to the main house is a studio which is accessible via a flight of outside stairs from the main sun terrace. The studio has its own very sheltered courtyard. Large glass doors open into the spacious studio which has sleeping area with two twin beds, and living area with kitchen equipped for the preparation of breakfasts and simple meals. Off the open plan room is the ensuite bathroom with shower and WC.
The studio is available for rent in conjunction with the main house if there is a party bigger than 2 persons.
